Our Programs & Activities

Empowerment in Action

Our Key Activities & Operations

We coordinate closely with local resources and government health/education offices to run localized welfare camps.

The Gurukul Public School Network

Under the Gurukul Project, we target areas of vital interest for out-of-school youth, child drop-outs, and rural children. We operate 23 Gurukul Public Schools across 4 states: Jharkhand, Bihar, West Bengal, and Andhra Pradesh. These schools provide accessible, quality English learning opportunities close to remote habitations.

Vocational Training & Project ANCHAL

We adopted 107 slum areas in East Singhbhum under Project Anchal. We coordinate custom vocational camps in computer training and tailoring for girls and unemployed youth. Our vocational center was inaugurated by central board chairperson Dr. Pratibha Pandey, securing placement support from local light industries.

Financial Inclusion & SHG Groups

To cultivate saving habits and micro-finance stability, we support Self-Help Groups (SHGs) for families living below the poverty line (BPL) in places like Latehar. Additionally, we successfully motivated over 400 slum dwellers and BPL women to open Zero-Balance accounts in Jamshedpur slums through Canara Bank.

Community Health & Leprosy Awareness

In collaboration with the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of Jharkhand, SPARSH runs diagnostic and preventive health camps. We focus on family planning, malaria prevention, pediatric care, and leprosy support campaigns. Under IEC actions, we manage sanitation campaigns and rural awareness drives.

Nukkad Natak (Street Play Campaigns)

We utilize traditional arts, street plays, and cultural projects (such as Chhau Ballet) to spread vital messages about HIV/AIDS, Leprosy medical care, de-addiction, and environmental concerns. Nippon Foundation Chairman Sri Sasakawa personally visited and commended our unique model of cultural advocacy.

Free Legal Aid Camps

Recognizing the lack of legal awareness among slum dwellers, SPARSH hosts free Legal Aid Camps in locations like Chhayanagar, Baridih Bastee, and Bhalubasa Community Hall. Judicial Magistrates are invited to deliver legal guidelines directly to the underprivileged community.
